Workflow Automation with Microsoft Power Automate – Second Edition!

Hola!

I’m super excited to announce that the second edition of Workflow Automation with Microsoft Power Automate has been released! It’s available immediately.

This book features a ton of updates (product, connector, action and parameter names).  We’ve changed the way some features work, so I wanted to capture those changes (the old ways still work, but it’s best to be up-to-date). In addition, I added three new chapters, focusing on Azure AD, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and AI Models.

A lot of the feedback I got on the first edition was focused on learning about Robotic Process Automation. When the first edition was released, RPA was still in Preview and I didn’t feel comfortable (since things in Preview stage can get pulled back and revamped significantly before they make it to General Availability).  Since the first edition, the Power Automate Desktop application was updated (as well as included with Windows 11) and it’s been fully released.

With that mind, I added nearly 40 pages on RPA, including a complete demo on how to set it up and configure it to work with Microsoft Access.

My favorite update, however, was the addition of AI Models.  Trying to hone in on real-world business problems that my customers face, I created a demo that use sentiment analysis to evaluate product or service feedback email messages, designed to help customers sift through data and manage by exception, if need be. This edition features 25 pages dedicated to helping readers begin exploring the Sentiment Analysis AI Model.

I hope everyone who chooses to start their Power Automate journey here gets as much out of reading it as I did writing it!
